Orbit Gold Medal

Orbit Gold Medal here, made in Birmingham circa 1984, with 531C tubing, & relaxed tourer angles…

Quite unusual thus & I’ve been using it daily for several months now as a shopper/town bike, without the slightest problem. Love it: )

Came originally with drop bars & was designed/sold as a lightweight Tourer.

This is one of the ebay pics.

Well used & mostly original, with a decent Wrights leather saddle & (as it turned out) a good pair of  27″ alloys on Pelissier hubs. CLB brakes, Stronglight Chain-set.

Here above it has a 700 Mavic 7sp wheelset, with 32 Schwalbe Road Cruisers, Weinmann 730 calipers, flat bars & Turbo saddle.  A good combination for  me, but I’m looking to revert back to the original 27″ wheelset eventually. When I find a decent pair of 27″ tyres…

Found some Nutraks recently that might do: )

The 700 Mavic wheelset here shows plenty of clearance for guards.  When the original 27″ wheels go back on, it’ll still have sufficient guard clearances.

I’m very pleased with the way it performs as a load carrier, & the 32 tyres soak up the corrugated roads around where I live: ) And also good for canal paths, light off road, etc.

It’s nimble & light at 26.8lbs here.
